1. To protect and promote the improvement, advancement and interests of all pure-bred dogs;
2. To conduct sanctioned matches, dog shows and obedience trials under the authority of the American Kennel Club;
3. To protect and promote the interests of all dogs in the Low Country;
4. To encourage Good Sportsmanship;
5. To improve the treatment of all dogs and teach the responsible dog ownership.

The HHIKC sponsors training classes, educational programs, matches, and public awareness programs.
